Rename the Prospect field

If you are using the Opportunity module to handle issues or manage cases, you can now rename the Prospect field so that the field name is appropriate to your needs. If you prefer to globally change the term "Prospect" to some other term throughout the Opportunity module, you can do so by using the Business Object Builder (BOB).

Note: You must have at least one existing Opportunity on your iMIS Server .NET system before using the following procedure.

To rename the Prospect field

  1. In your iMIS window, choose File > System Setup.

    The System Setup window appears.

  2. Look at the Web Server URL field to identify the web URL to your iMIS Server .NET server (for example, http://myiMISserver/iMIS).
  3. Open Microsoft Internet Explorer and enter the web URL to your iMIS Server .NET server, followed by /iMIS/BOB/BobStartup.aspx (for example, http://myiMISserver/iMIS/iMIS/BOB/BobStartup.aspx).

The Business Objects page appears in the Microsoft Internet Explorer window.

Note: If the Business Objects page does not appear, verify that the BOB is installed on the iMIS Server .NET host computer by checking for the existence of a file called BobStartup.aspx in the iMIS Server .NET installation folders. (The default installation path is C:\Program Files\iMIS.Net\iMIS\BOB.) Also ensure that you are entering the correct web URL to your iMIS Server .NET server and the correct file path to the BobStartup.aspx file.

  4. Click the Design tab.
  5. From the Business Object Design list, select Opportunity.
  6. Click Edit.

The Business Object Builder page appears.

  7. From the task list, select Properties.
  8. From the unlabeled list in the Properties area, select ProspectKey (OpportunityMain.ProspectKey).
  9. Click the Display tab.
  10. In the Caption field, change "Prospect" to any term that you prefer.
  11. Click Save.
  12. Click Close.

    The Business Objects page appears.

  13. Click Build.
  14. Review the Build Messages area to ensure that no build errors occurred.
  15. Click Publish.
  16. Review the Build Messages area to ensure that no publish errors occurred.
  17. Close the Microsoft Internet Explorer window.
  18. View your iMIS window.
  19. From Opportunity, select Opportunity Management.
  20. From the list of opportunities, select an opportunity.

    The Opportunity Portfolio window appears.

  21. Review the contents of the Summary and Definition tabs to ensure that your new label appears in place of the default "Prospect" label. (You might need to restart your iMIS session to see the new label.)
