Creating General Lookup/Validation Tables for Exposition Management

You must set up four general lookup/validation tables for the Exposition Management module.

BADGE_TYPE

This table includes the badge types needed for your expositions. The Exposition Management module comes with two badge types predefined: Free_Pass and Paid_Pass. Free passes come with the purchase of the booth. For example, when setting up your exposition, if you indicate that each booth unit receives two free passes, that is the number of free passes available to the exhibitor for each booth unit.

A Paid_Pass is a specific product defined at the exposition product level. For example, exhibitors may want to purchase additional badges with their booth order. The BADGE_TYPE information is available on the Badges window, which you gain access to from the Process booth orders window.

As you issue each badge, you can see the number available for each Paid and Free Pass type displayed below the data entry area. Badge types are only available on the Badges window if they have been defined on the Set up general lookup/validation window. Although the Exposition Management module comes with Free_Pass and Paid_Pass already defined, you can define as many badge types as you need for your particular exposition.

CONTACT_TYPE

This table contains the contact types for the exhibiting company. The Exposition Management module comes with Primary contact defined, although you may want to define several contact types for the companies exhibiting at your exposition, such as accounts payable, sales, and so forth.

EXPO_CAT

This table contains the historical category types of expositions. You can define the category types depending upon the types of expositions you conduct. For example, you might hold several different types of expositions, such as technology conferences, educational shows, and so forth.

EXPO_PROD_CAT

This table allows you to define categories for grouping the products you enter in the Product Master File. For example, you might group your products based upon the types of expositions you hold, such as technology products for the technology conference, or educational products for an educational show, and so forth. You can define the category types depending upon the types of expositions you conduct. Even if you hold only one category of exposition, you still might have several product categories you want to define.
