To delete a letter

When you delete a report specification on the Report Specifications window (select Utilities> Report Specs), the template no longer appears on the Membership Standard Letters window, but the Word file still exists. This process removes the external files, irreversibly.

  1. From Customers, select Generate reports.
  2. Select Letters.

    Note: The Available Reports list is empty. Letter reports are selected on the Membership Standard Letters window.

  3. Click Letter System to open the Membership Standard Letters window.
  4. Select a letter to delete.
  5. Click Delete. A Delete file operation message appears warning you that you are about to delete the template, mail merge header and data files, and that the process is not reversible.
  6. Click Yes to delete the following:
    • The letter template, for example, New_Member_Letter.doc
    • The corresponding iMIS report specification
    • The header file, for example, New_Member_Letter_header.doc
    • The data file, for example, New_Member_Letter_data.doc
