SQL Security Models and Logon IDs

SQL Security Models allow you to select a security model that will access the database outside iMIS (from ISQL, Access, or other third-party tools). You can select a security model that will use iMIS user IDs and passwords to access the database or a security model that will require a different ID and password to access the database.

In general, you can select Security Model 1 if you want users to access the database with read/write permissions using their iMIS ID and password. If you select Models 2 and 3, you will enter a different database password to prevent users from accessing and changing the database information from applications other than iMIS.

Note: The SQL security models and logon information is the same except for the database server application used (Microsoft SQL Server™ and Sybase SQL Anywhere™).
