To select the booth measurement option
With the addition of EXPOCAD, booth pricing can be calculated in one of two ways: quantity or area.
Calculating by Quantity calculates booth pricing based on the quantity of booths ordered that are of the dimension defined in the booth product code. The booth price is multiplied by the quantity ordered to calculate the total price. This is the way Exposition has worked in the past, and is the default setting for this option.
EXPOCAD defines all booth products by total square units. The Area (Square Units) option allows iMIS to calculate pricing in this manner as well.
Note: This is a System Setup option and not exposition-specific; therefore, booth pricing for all expositions will be calculated using either Quantity or Area.
Note: Do not change these options while an exposition is in progress. When this option is changed, it will affect orders entered from that point on. Changing this option will not update or change previous orders.
- Select Expo> System Setup to open the Expo System Setup window.
- Click Expocad. The ExpoCad System Options window opens.
- Click Edit on the palette.
- Enable the measurement option that iMIS will use to calculate orders.
- Quantity (default) – When this option is selected, iMIS will prompt you to enter the required booth product code dimensions. Booth price is determined by the number (quantity) of booths of the defined dimension multiplied by the product fee. The product fee is setup as the total fee for that booth. For example, a booth is defined in iMIS with dimensions of 10' x 10' for a cost of $1,000. An exhibitor rents two booths in EXPOCAD, which exports as 200 square units. 200 square units (coming from EXPOCAD) divided by 100 square units (dimensions in iMIS) equal a quantity of 2. The quantity is multiplied by the product fee of $1,000 for a total cost of $2,000.
- Area (Square Units) – iMIS-defined booth dimensions do not apply to the calculation. The price of the booth is a per square unit price. For example, a booth is defined in iMIS with a cost of $10 per square unit. An exhibitor rents two standard (100 square units each) booths in EXPOCAD, which exports as 200 square units. 200 square units (coming from EXPOCAD) multiplied by $10 (price per square unit in iMIS) equals a total cost of $2,000.
