A segmentation job contains the job definition, security settings, and segment definitions used to generate contact or prospect lists.

Process for creating a segmentation job

Types of segmentation jobs

You can create two types of segmentation jobs: Contact jobs and Prospect jobs.

To create a segmentation job

  1. From Marketing, select Segmentation.
  2. Select New Job and enter the job definition.
  3. Select the type (Contact or Prospect) from the drop-down menu.
  4. (Optional) Apply a filter (Universe) query to the job. You can create a new query or use an existing query. These queries can be added later.
  5. (Optional) Select the Security tab to modify the security settings for the job. Only the Segmentation administrator can modify the security settings for a segmentation job.
  6. (Optional) Select the n-Select tab to define and create n-Select segments. If you are using an n-Select segment, the system will automatically generate the segments for you.
  7. (Optional) Select Segments from the navigation list to define explicit segments.
  8. Select Save.
