Creating a Crystal Report Output Process

iMIS ships with a list of default reports. If you want to create Crystal Report output processes are essential if you want to run reports using your own template specifications. create a Crystal report output process.

Note: A Crystal report template (.rpt file) is required to create a Crystal report output process.

To create a Crystal report output process

  1. Browse to the Central Object Repository.
  2. Select Crystal Report from the document type drop-down list and select New.
  3. Define the Crystal report.
  4. On the Sources tab, locate a Crystal Template in the CORE or upload one in a local folder.
  5. Select your query preference.
  6. Locate a Driver Business Object if associating a query with the Crystal report.

    Note: The Browse icon on the Driver Business Object field is disabled until you specify you want to associate a query with the Crystal report.

  7. Locate a query in the CORE or create a new query.
  8. Specify your output options on the Output tab.
  9. Specify parameter values or select the Show Parameters at Runtime option.

    Note: If you do not select the Show Parameters at Runtime option and you do not provide default values, the Crystal report will be unable to execute successfully and will fail with errors.

  10. Select Security and modify the security settings for the Crystal report, if necessary.
  11. Save your settings.

To export a Crystal report

  1. Browse to the Crystal report you want to export.
  2. Select Print to Screen from the drop-down list on the Output tab.
  3. Run the report and change parameters, if necessary.
  4. Select Run.
  5. Select an export format.
  6. Export the report.
