To define a product kit

When defining product kits, remember the following:

  1. From Orders, select Manage inventory> Manage products to open the Manage products window.
  2. Click New.
  3. Define the kit:
    1. (Required) Enter a Code for the product kit.
    2. (Required) Select a product Category from the drop-down list. The Product Kit option enables and the Kit button displays if the Product Kit option is enabled for the Category on the Set up product categories window.
    3. Enter a Title for the kit.
  4. Enter any applicable product kit descriptions:
    1. Enter a general kit description in the Desc field.
    2. Enter a kit description for a product catalog in the Catalog Desc field.
    3. Enter any other kit description in the Other Desc field.
    4. (e-Orders only) Enter a kit description for an e-Orders site in the Web Desc field.
  5. Enter the product kit's Pricing information:
    1. Enter a default price for the product kit in the Regular field. Kit pricing is calculated for the kit and not for the individual products that make up the kit.
    2. (Optional) Enter a Non-Member price for the kit if applicable.
  6. Enter the product kit's Options:
    1. Enter the kit's Unit of Measure, such as package or group.
    2. (Optional) Enable the Commissionable option if the product kit's sale generates a commission (enter a commission percentage in the Comm % field if you enable the Commissionable option).
    3. Enter the product kit's Weight if automatic freight charges are calculated by weight. Freight-by-weight charges will not calculate for a product kit unless a weight has been defined.
    4. (Optional) Enable the Taxable option if the kit is taxable.
    5. (Multi-Entities only) Enter an Entity for the kit.
  7. Click Save.
