Input from file
Specifies that a text (.txt) file of iMIS IDs will be used to generate activity records. The text file must contain a list of valid IDs, and the IDs should be listed in the file with only one ID per line.
Opens a browse dialog to locate the .txt file containing the list of user IDs.
Input from Query
Specifies that a SQL query will be used to select iMIS IDs to generate activity records. The Name and Demographic tables can be used in the query.
Note: The Input from Query field enables you to enter and execute a SQL statement. Your administrator can use the iMIS reserved access keyword, SQLQuery, to authorize certain users access to this advanced feature. This functionality requires knowledge of SQL and iMIS business processes.
Loads the ID's for which activity records will be created.
Import activities window - Step 2 - Set Values
From Customers, select Import activities
Note: The fields that display in the Step 2 - Set Values area of the Import activities window changes according to the Activity Type you select.
Activity Type
(Required) Specifies the activity type that will be created.
One or more of the following fields are activated based on the definition of the Activity Type chosen from the drop-down list.
Note: Field labels may have been changed in the Activity Type definition.
Subtype
Specifies a sub-type of the activity type. The Subtype field enables you to sub-categorize the activity type. For example, a product code is a sub-type of the activity type Sales.
Description
Describes the sub-type. If this field is activated, a text box is created within the Activity Detail window that enables up to 255 characters of text.
Note
Specifies notes you want to keep. If activated, a large text box is created within the Activity Detail window that enables up to 32,000 characters.
Follow-Up
Specifies follow-up comments. If activated, a large text box is created within the Activity Detail window that enables you to enter up to 32,000 characters.
Eff Date
Specifies an additional date field (The activity date is system generated). This field is used if another date field is necessary for the activity. For example, for tracking the begin date of a committee appointment.
Thru Date
Specifies an end date. For example, the ending date of a committee appointment.
Source
Specifies either a marketing code, or an individual to which an item will be assigned. For example, if an order sale is made over the phone, the code used to track this information might be Phone. Codes may be set up for advertising, catalogs, salespeople, etc.
Amount
Specifies a monetary amount for the activity.
Task Date
Specifies the date on which an activity record will be displayed in the user's task list (user defined in Source).
Action
Specifies the type of action taken on a task item.
CEU Type
Specifies the type or category of educational credit awarded (With CEU add-on module only).
Qty/CEU
Specifies the quantity or frequency of something. For example, the number CEU credit hours or the frequency of a recurring request.
UF_1, UF_2, and UF_3
Specify user-defined character information, that will be displayed in the bottom half of the Activity Detail window. For example, the GIFT and PLEDGE activities define these fields as List As, Campaign Code and Fund Code.
UF_4 and UF_5
Specify user-defined numeric information.
UF_6 and UF_7
Specify user-defined date information. For example, the REQUEST activity defines these fields as End Date and Last Reminder.
CO ID
Specifies an ID number. For example, the REQUEST, GIFT, and PLEDGE activity types define this field as Solicitor ID.
Other Code
Specifies a user-defined character field. For example, PAP_NEW defines this field as Added By.
Used to set the values entered for the activity.

Transformation Query
(Optional) Specifies a SQL query that updates records in the ActivityImporter table after setting the values for the activity. For example, you can update fields or delete specific IDs. This functionality requires knowledge of SQL and iMIS business processes.
Note: The Transformation Query field enables you to enter and execute a SQL statement. Your administrator can use the iMIS reserved access keyword, SQLQuery, to authorize certain users access to this advanced feature. This functionality requires knowledge of SQL and iMIS business processes.
Processes the query in the Transformation Query field.
Clears all of the fields in the Import activities window.
Displays a preview of the activity record in a grid.
Generates activity records and adds them to the iMIS database from the ActivityImporter table.
