Upgrading Action Plans created before iMIS version 10.6

The process of upgrading iMIS Server .NET from version 10.5 or earlier to version 10.6 or later partially resets your version 10.5 and earlier action plans defined in the Opportunity module. Most of your action plan information remains intact, including the defined stages, tasks, notes, and email notifications, but the action plan's related opportunity type is blank and the list of assignees for each task and email notification is blank.

This partial resetting of your preexisting action plans occurs because in iMIS version 10.6 and later, action plans must be related to a single opportunity type, and the list of available assignees for tasks and email notifications is based upon the related opportunity type. In version 10.5 and earlier, action plans were not tied to a single opportunity type and the assignees were therefore not constrained to a valid set for the related opportunity type.

If you are licensed for the Opportunity module, and you have created any action plans prior to iMIS version 10.6, then you must use the following procedure to upgrade your preexisting action plans.

Note: You don't need to perform this procedure on action plans that you have created after your upgrade to iMIS 10.6 or later.

To upgrade action plans created before iMIS version 10.6

  1. After you have completely upgraded iMIS Server .NET to version 10.6 or later, identify the action plans that were partially reset and must therefore be upgraded.
    1. From Opportunity, select Generate Reports.

      The Generate Reports window appears.

    2. Run the Unassigned Action Plans report.
  2. Perform the following steps for each action plan identified by the report.
    1. From Opportunity, select Set up module.
    2. Click the Action Plans tab.
    3. Select an action plan identified by the report.

The Opportunity Action Plan window appears.

    4. From the Opportunity Type drop-down list, select the opportunity type to relate to the action plan.

Note: You can change the Opportunity Type only before you save the action plan.

    5. Click Save.

Note: You must click Save to set the related opportunity type before you define task and email notification assignees, because the list of available assignees is based on the related opportunity type.

    6. Check the Assignee list for every task and email notification in the action plan to ensure that a valid assignee from the new opportunity type is assigned.
    7. Click Save.
  3. (optional) Once you have upgraded all preexisting action plans, you can make additional copies of an upgraded action plan to associate it with other opportunity types.
    1. Select the action plan that you wish to copy.

The Opportunity Action Plan window appears.

    2. Click Save as.

A new copy of the action plan is created with the name Copy of [original Action Plan].

    3. Change the name and description of the new action plan.
    4. From the Opportunity Type drop-down list, choose a different opportunity type.

Note: You can change the Opportunity Type only before you save the copy of the action plan.

    5. Click Save.

Note: You must click Save to set the related opportunity type before you specify assignees, because the list of available assignees is based on the related opportunity type.

    6. Check the Assignee list for every task and email notification in the action plan to ensure that a valid assignee from the new opportunity type is assigned.
    7. Click Save.
