MANAGER Logon in iMIS

For user logon maintenance, system upgrade and for table analysis, iMIS requires that you log on as:

User ID: MANAGER!SA, Password: manager-password!sa-password

(Sybase ASA: User ID: MANAGER!DBA, Password: manager-password!SQL)

Note: iMIS requires that the password for the SQL Server "sa" account be lower case, and not contain any special characters.

Note: When the iMIS database is initially created, you must create a MANAGER logon ID for the SQL database server.

When you change the MANAGER password in iMIS, only the iMIS password for MANAGER is changed; the SQL database server password for MANAGER is not changed. This is true for all security models. This provides an extra level of security by allowing separate passwords for the MANAGER logon and the MANAGER user in each database.

If the MANAGER password is changed in iMIS, MANAGER must log on to the particular database using the following syntax:

User ID: MANAGER!MANAGER, Password: imis-manager-pw!sql-server-manager-pw

You must log on this way until the MANAGER SQL database server logon is changed to be identical to that of the iMIS logon.
