Concepts and Terms: Security Administration

Access privilege

Permission granted to one or more users, groups, or roles for accessing specific areas of functionality within iMIS.

Group

Collection of users assigned the same level of access to a specific area of functionality within iMIS.

Record-level access

Privilege granted for accessing a specific instance of data, such as an individual campaign, a segmentation job, a contact's record, or an IQA query. Edit record-level access on the Security tab of each module's portfolio to allow or limit user, group, or role access to specific records.

Example of record-level access

System-defined user

User created by default when you install iMIS. iMIS creates the Administrator user (assigned to the SysAdmin role). The Administrator user permits modifying passwords (by the SysAdmin role), but it does not permit modifying the Login, Expiration Date, IsDisabled option, or role assignments.

Note: You cannot delete system-defined users.

User

User Permission

Privilege granted to one or more users, groups, or roles for allowing and limiting access to record-level data. You can assign the following universal permissions on the User Permissions page for accessing record-level data, such as campaigns, opportunities, and segmentation jobs:
