To enable zip code search feature

  1. From Referrals, select Set up module to open the Set up module window.
  2. Click Edit.
  3. Select the Use Zip Areas option.
  4. Click Save.
  5. You will need to create the REFERRAL_AREA general lookup/validation table.
    1. From Customers, select Set up tables > General lookup/validation to open the Set up general lookup/validation window.
    2. Select New Table from the scrolling list.
    3. Enter REFERRAL_AREA in the space provided and click Save.
    4. Click New.
    5. Enter a Code and Description a zip code area. The Code should contain the name of the area (for example, the city's name or the first three numbers of the zip code). The Description should contain a list of all possible zip codes in that area separated by commas and no spaces.

      Note: If you want the search to be based on the first three numbers of the client's zip code compared to the first three numbers of all providers' zip codes, enter the Code normally, but enter the Description as the three digits only.

    6. Click Save.
    7. Repeat the process to enter additional codes.
    8. Restart iMIS . You must restart iMIS any time you change values in the REFERRAL_AREA table.
    9. Run the Rebuild search indexes utility (from Referrals, select Rebuild search indexes).
    10. From Referrals, select Manage referrals.
    11. Enter a test client with a zip code that you defined in the REFERRAL_AREA table.
    12. When you tab past the client's zip code field, ensure the Zip/Area Search Field autopopulates with the correct code from REFERRAL_AREA.
    13. Click Search.
    14. Make sure the correct providers displays.
