System requirements
An iMIS Analytics implementation consists of client components and server components. The server components can be implemented together on a single tier or spread across two hosts in a two-tier configuration:
- Two-tier: The iMIS Analytics data warehouse and analysis database are located together on one SQL Server host (the iMIS Analytics host), and your iMIS database is located on a different SQL Server host (the iMIS host). Both the iMIS Analytics host and the iMIS host must be members of the same domain.
- Single-tier: The iMIS Analytics data warehouse and analysis database are located on the same SQL Server host that contains your iMIS database. In this configuration, the iMIS Analytics host is also the iMIS host.
Client system requirements
- OLAP viewer software (ProClarity Desktop Professional recommended)
Although you can use any OLAP viewer to browse the iMIS Analytics cubes, we recommend the popular ProClarity Desktop Professional product, because the iMIS Analytics Briefing Book is designed to work with ProClarity Professional. The iMIS Analytics Briefing Book contains many useful predefined views to help you analyze your iMIS business performance. You can obtain a ProClarity Desktop Professional viewer by visiting the ProClarity website.
- Processor speed, memory, and disk space sufficient to meet the requirements for ProClarity Desktop Professional
iMIS host system requirements
- iMIS software:
- Version 10.2 or later is supported for a two-tier configuration.
- Version 10.2 through 10.5 is supported for a single-tier configuration only if you apply Service Pack 4 to Microsoft SQL Server 2000 on the iMIS host.
- License key for iMIS Analytics installed in iMIS
- Processor speed, memory, and disk space sufficient to meet the requirements for your version of iMIS
iMIS Analytics host system requirements
- Applying Service Pack 4 to SQL Server 2000 does not also update Analysis Services to SP4. Service Pack 4 for Analysis Services is a separate update.
- If you are unsure whether your installations of SQL Server 2000 and Analysis Services are at the required service pack level, see Determining the service pack level for SQL Server and Analysis Services.
Network requirements
- If you are implementing a two-tier configuration of the iMIS Analytics server components, the iMIS host must be a member of the same domain as the iMIS Analytics host.
- Client computers running ProClarity Desktop Professional must be able to address the iMIS Analytics host by using a standard Windows domain computer name.
Note:
- Using ProClarity Desktop Professional on a remotely accessed machine through Terminal Server or Citrix is untested.
- VPN connections from ProClarity Desktop Professional on a client computer to the domain containing the iMIS Analytics host is untested.
