Adding a Filter

A filter allows you to narrow the selection search for a query. You can define a query that combines the results of two or more sets of filter criteria based on different search sources, and eliminate the duplicates when the combined, multiple result sets contain some of the same rows.

For example, if you want all contacts who subscribed to a particular journal (Subscriptions-based query) or contacts in Austin (Name-based query), only those Austinites who have at least one Subscriptions record will be found.
