Creating a source code
A source code represents the finest level of granularity within a marketing appeal. Source codes solicit responses to your specific marketing appeals by linking packages of inserts to your targeted lists of contacts and prospects.
For a single source code, you can:
- Add one or more inserts (including more than one of the same insert).
- Generate customized lists of contacts and prospects using any combination of multiple source lists.
Tips for creating a source code
- Use consistent naming conventions when creating source codes. We recommend generating source codes automatically.
- Create all applicable inserts, queries, and segmentation jobs before you create a source code.
- Source codes that are created or edited in Campaign Management are not recognized immediately in iMIS.
- Enter an External Filename and Count when you set the Source Code Type to External List.
- Edit a source code by selecting the source code's link on the Source Codes page. Note the following:
- Editing a source code breaks the relationship between the source code and the Appeal table.
- Do not edit a campaign source code after processing responses for the source code.
