Optional Search Fields
Use this area to specify your optional search fields:
Use Zip Areas – Select this option if you are maintaining zip code areas (zones) and want iMIS to locate providers based on the client's zip code.
If you disable this option, you can use the first field for an additional (sixth) search field, such as Name.COUNTY.
Note: Refer to Enabling Zip Code Search for instructions on setting up the Use Zip Areas feature.
Field Name – You can specify up to five character fields from the Name table and custom (except multi-instance) tables to be available for searching. You can also specify six fields if you deselect the Use Zip Areas option. In most cases, these fields will point to either a user-defined demographic field or a list string field.
Note: When using these fields to search, iMIS will process the query on a CONTAINS basis - meaning it will return all values that contain the search term. For example, if you search for "600", the values 600, 1600, 2600, 6001, 6006 would all be returned. The search will also insert ANDs between each search field you use.
Note: Each provider you expect to use must have a record in all custom Tables referenced in Field Name. Otherwise, they will not be added when you run the Rebuild Search Indexes utility.
iMIS validates the Field Name entry to ensure that it refers to appropriate Name fields; it also autoformats the field's capitalization. iMIS rejects a field name in two cases: 1) If the field is not in the Name table or any custom tables, or 2) if the field is not a character field (for example, PAID_THRU).
The fields you specify will be used to create search indexes for providers and are populated by the Rebuild search indexes utility. The Referral module will reference these indexes when building lists of available providers for each client. These fields are stored in Ref_Provider.INDEX. The first thru sixth fields and have a length of 100 characters.
Each Field Name field has a limit of 30 characters.
Note: Any field over 255 characters long is considered a text field, and iMIS will not accept that entry.
Note: The first search field (top left) is available only when the Use Zip Areas is not selected.
Label – Use this field to enter the prompt (label) that you want to display in the Manage referrals window to represent the search field. Label 1 refers to Field Name 1 (30-character limit).
Additional Fields
Use this area to specify your additional fields:
Note: You must have already created your general lookup/validation tables to reference them in this area. If your table name does not match an existing table, iMIS prompts you to correct the entry.
Note: The Gen Table fields can be edited throughout the life of the referral record to maintain an ongoing status. For example, you can use one of these to track the referral status based on the information received from the provider.
