Using the MS Word Letter System for Letter Reports

Microsoft Word™ Integration (Letter System) allows you to create and save document templates (.DOC files) from within iMIS, and then use these templates to complete a mail merge. While activities in the past have been created automatically for a single customer merge, processing a mass mail merge also has the option of creating activities. The Letter System is available for the Customer Management and Events modules, as well as other iMIS modules.

Note: There is no license key requirement for this functionality.

To use the Letter System, Microsoft Word must be installed on your computer, you must enable the MSWord_Integration feature during the installation or upgrade process, and you must specify a shared folder for your Word templates on the System Setup window (select File> System Setup). iMIS defaults to QuickLetter if these requirements are not met.

Note: If you do not want users to share MS Word templates, you can enter a local path in the Choose MS Word Folder field. However, all users must use that same local path, for example, C:\iMIS10\MSWord.
