To permanently delete a customer record (Sybase database)

If you are using a Sybase database, you must download and run the SASA_PurgeScript.zip file (in Interactive SQL) that is available in the Tech Support Download area of the ASI website. Be sure to read the .txt files in the SASA_PurgeScript.zip file. Before running the script, go to Commands> Options

Note: Be sure to read the .txt files in the SASA_PurgeScript.zip file. Also, Be sure to go to Commands>>Options>> and change these settings:

Commit After Every Command = TRUE

Batch Delimiter = '~'

Make sure that a C:\temp directory exists. Running the script will create a file called deletedmembers.TXT. This will print off the Purge "control table." This table has several bit fields you can check that will indicate why a customer wasn't deleted. Fields that contain a "1" indicate why a particular member wasn't deleted:

  1. Open Interactive SQL.
  2. Open the SASA_PurgeScript.zip file.
  3. Select Commands> Options.
  4. Select the After Every Command option in the Commit area.
  5. Enter a tilde (~) in the Batch Command Delimiter field.
  6. Run the script.
