In Advanced Campaign Management, you can track budgets at the appeal level or the source code level. This allows you to define overhead costs and the cost of individual inserts. The method you use to track budgets also determines how costs are entered, recorded, and calculated within the Campaign Management module.
The following are the costs that can be calculated:
(Budget Level set to Source Code) Calculated as follows:
(total insert costs X actual number of contacts solicited) + overhead costs of source codes for which output has been generated
Until output is generated for a source code, the source code's Summary tab displays estimated costs. After output is generated, the source code's Summary tab displays actual costs.
For a campaign, appeal, or solicitation, the Summary tab displays actual cost only if output has been generated for a child source code; otherwise, the Summary tab displays estimated costs.
Equal to the following:
(Actual Cost X 1000) / number of pieces mailed
(Total Cost X 1000) / number of pieces mailed
(Budget Level set to Source Code) Calculated as follows:
(total insert costs X estimated number of contacts solicited) + source-code overhead costs
Sum of expenses entered for each appeal (Budget Level set to Appeal) or source code (Budget Level set to Source Code). Negative values are supported.
