To add user login IDs
- Log on to iMIS as MANAGER.
- Select File> System Setup. The System Setup window opens.
- Click the User Passwords button to open the User Names window.
- Click the Insert button on the palette.
- Enter the User Id to be used to log on to iMIS.
- Enter the user Name.
- Enter the Password to be used to log on to iMIS.
- (Optional) Enter the date the user ID and password Expires. If a user logs on after the expiration date, iMIS displays a message indicating that the user ID and password are invalid.
- (Optional) Select the Disabled option if the user attributes will longer be accepted. If user attributes have been disabled and the user logs on, iMIS displays a message indicating the user ID and password are invalid.
- (Optional) Enable (select) or disable (deselect) the following options:
- Select the Check Tasks on Login option if you want the user to view the assigned Activity Tasks that are outstanding. The assigned activities also can be viewed by selecting Membership> Activity Tasks.
- Select the Disable Internet Access from iMIS option to prevent users from launching an external browser on certain help menu items. When this option is selected, the following Help menu items are grayed out and, therefore, cannot be accessed: Tutorials, Welcome to the Web, ASI Resource Network, and ASI Home Page.
- Select the Disable 'iMIS on the Web' initial screen option if you do not want the Welcome to the Web initial splash screen to display when you log in.
- Select the option This user can modify their own button bar if you want the selected user to modify their own button bar, even if the user does not have Administrator privileges. See the iMIS Button Bar Designer (System Reference Supplement – iMIS Global System Settings) for detailed information.
- Enter an authorization level for each module that the user can access. See Access Security Levels for a list of access levels by module. Each level is inclusive of all preceding levels.
- (Optional) Enter the access keyword(s) or press Ctrl+L to look up and select from a list of available keywords. The access keywords grant the user access to areas of functionality associated with the designated keyword. For example, if an access keyword is associated with a custom User Defined window, the user assigned this keyword is able to enter or modify data within the custom window.
- (Optional) Enter a standard letter closing that will appear on letters from the user.
- (Optional) To insert signature artwork, copy the artwork to the clipboard and paste it into the Signature field, or choose Edit> Paste From File. iMIS reads only *.BMP (bitmap) or *.WMF (metafiles) files.
- (Optional) Enter the users' title in the Title, other field that you want to appear on letters.
- Click OK to save the information.
Note: Be sure to click the Update All SQL Logins button if you change a user's attributes. You do not need to update the SQL logins when adding a new user because iMIS passes the login information, based on the Security Model, to the SQL Server when you click OK.
- Click X to close the window.
