Overview of the iMIS SQL Security Models

iMIS provides three SQL security models that can be used to determine the ID/password that will be used to log on to the database server. Regardless of the model selected, users need to know only one user ID and password. Passwords are required.

Note: Passwords must begin with an alphabetic character and not with a number; otherwise, iMIS will display an error message.

Model

1 - Passthrough

iMIS user ID matches the SQL database user ID

iMIS password matches SQL database password

2 - Parallel

iMIS user ID maps to user ID + "_i" for the SQL database

Ex: JANEà JANE_i

iMIS password maps to one common "master" SQL database password for all users

3 - Unilogin

Ex: JANEà imisuser
