Attaching document templates to an opportunity type

You can attach multiple document templates to an opportunity type. Each new opportunity created from the opportunity type contains its own unique copy of the attached documents , which you can edit as needed for the opportunity.

Note: You can attach only documents that are locally saved on your computer. For this procedure, do not attempt to specify documents that are located in iMIS folders.

To attach document templates to an opportunity type

  1. Ensure that the documents to be used as templates for the opportunity type are locally saved on your computer.
  2. From Opportunity, select Set up Module.
  3. On the Types tab, select an opportunity type (or create a new opportunity type by clicking Add Type).

    The Opportunity Type window opens.

  4. Click the Documents tab.
  5. From the drop-down list, select File and click New.

    The Document Loader window appears.

  6. From the Type drop-down list, select the type of file that you want to upload.
  7. Click Browse.

    The Choose File window appears.

  8. Browse to the file that you want to upload and click Open.

    Note: If the file Type that you chose does not match the file extension (for example, .doc for an MS Word Document), the upload will fail.

  9. (optional) In the Description field, enter a short description of the document template.
  10. Click Upload.

    The uploaded document is listed in the Opportunity Type window.

  11. Repeat this process for every document template that you want to attach to this opportunity type.
  12. Click Save.
