Creating a source code

A source code represents the finest level of granularity within a marketing appeal. Source codes solicit responses to your specific marketing appeals by linking packages of inserts to your targeted lists of contacts and prospects.

To create a source code

  1. From a campaign, select Solicitations.
  2. Select Source Codes.
  3. Click Add Source Code.
  4. Define the source code:
    1. Enter a Code.
    2. (optional) Enter a Description, Status, and Predicted Response Rate.
  5. If budgets are tracked at the source code level:
    1. Enter the Overhead Cost.
    2. Enter the Target Revenue.
  6. Select the Source Code Type:

    Note: If the output is generated at a level higher than source code, output can be generated only once. If the output is generated at the source code level, output can be generated repeatedly.

    • Run Once - (Advanced Campaign Management only)
    • Run Many - (Advanced Campaign Management only)
    • External List - The list source is an external file. Selecting External List disables Preview and Generate Output on the Source Code Portfolio.
      1. Enter the External Filename of the list.
      2. Enter the Count (total records in the external list).
  7. Select the List Member Type (Contact or Prospect).
  8. Click Save.
  9. Create the source list.
  10. Create the applicable inserts.
  11. Add the inserts to the source code.
