Defining Standard Inventory Parameters

iMIS Orders allows you to define parameters that assist you in managing your product inventory. Inventory can be managed only for stock items, and how you manage your product inventory depends on whether your inventory is stored in a single location or in multiple warehouses. See Defining Inventory Parameters for Multiple Warehouses for detailed information about multiple warehouses.

If you do not store single products in multiple warehouse locations, then you will need to define standard inventory parameters for managing your stock items. Standard inventory parameters are defined on the Inventory window and include reorder points, order quantities, inventory arrival and receipt dates, and product costs. The Inventory window is accessed by clicking the Inventory button on the Manage products window.

In order to access the Inventory window and define inventory parameters for a product, the Stock Item option must be enabled for the product on the Manage products window. If a product is designated as a stock item, the Inventory button will be enabled. If a product is not designated as a stock item, the Inventory button will be visible but disabled.
