Company ID cannot equal any customer ID

In previous releases it was possible to set the Company ID equal to a customer ID, which could cause problems with the Roster tab. In this version of iMIS, you will receive an error message if you attempt to assign a Company ID that equals an existing customer ID.

To correct invalid Company ID values

To find and correct any preexisting Company ID values that might be invalid in this version of iMIS, use the following procedure:

  1. From Customers, click Find.

    The Search dialog appears.

  2. From the drop-down list of search types, select Ad Hoc.

The Select Search Instructions dialog appears.

  3. Click New.

    The Search Instructions dialog appears.

  4. In the Search Name field, enter a descriptive name such as Find Invalid Company ID.
  5. From the Mode options, select Calculation.
  6. In the Comparison Value field, enter Name.ID=Name.CO_ID.
  7. Click Save.

The new ad hoc query is listed in the Select Search Instructions dialog.

  8. Click OK.

If any records matching the search criteria are found, they are listed in the Results tab.

  9. Correct each record found.
